Wow! This is what all the fuss is about? What a way to focus on the insignificant! Everyone's opinion stems from their preconceptions and prejudices. I see a man maintaining great composure upon receiving very disturbing news. If you want someone to make a good decision, it takes a little time. The few minutes spent here allowed him to begin formulating plans as well as to not alarm the children and the school. I'm more concerned over how the teacher is teaching the students to read! AWFUL!!

looks like a type of witchcraft:playing (plane) Must Hit Steelodd to be chanting those words on 911, while planes were hitting the towers. Now watch, the "gatekppepers" make their cover up comments about "conspiracy theorys"

Using the BS excuse he didn't want to frighten the kids, he doesn't even know how to deal with little kids. All he had to do is say 'Children, as you know I am the President, and duty calls, I must go'. And he sure doesn't look or act like he's in shock to me. He just sat there.I wonder what the parents and kids thought when they found out what happened, and realized- he just sat there, he did not respond.

what have you got against minority children?Very odd comment.

You are so right Coyotefever, the most important thing that day was that these elementary kids were no momentarily slightly puzzled by the visiting man having to leave a little earlier than expected. The families of the 3000 who lost their lives and the US public who feared further attacks and needed leadership could wait, gosh darnit. I see you are a Coyote with a fine sense of priorities.

Let me start by saying that I hate Bush with a passion. That said... I can't totally blame him for this. He was in Shock. When someone someone is in Shock, they continue doing what they were doing beforehand. Medical fact.Even so, you'd think Card would have led him out of the room or something.

this is not what i consider to be professional and executive leadership. I think it's obvious that the reason Bush can't think of what to say is because he is just as smart as a 2nd grader. instead of politely excusing himself and carrying on his elected tasks, he chose to sit there fumbling a child's book? honestly, dude. no one is asking him to explain that terrorists crashed planes into buildings. what they want him to do is be a president, not an absolute dolt.

damn right oh really! you got to remember the attacks just happened. Nobody held it against him at the time. That came later. If you want to say he cowardly flew off in Air Force One instead of coming back to Washington, then that's something different. But what should he have done in front of a bunch of little children? And who mentioned anything about Obama?
xsentilx (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
oh really? is that how president's conduct their day to day affairs? bush looks like hes sitting there shitting his pants. you better believe president-elect barack obama will do it differently (God forbid).

thanks for posting the whole video in it's entirety. In all fairness to Bush he was visiting a school that day. Nothing wrong with the President making his presence known in front of our youngest citizens. And perhaps he sat their as to not alarm the students with words of attack. |
