This is an exploration of one of the most complex and interesting analog polyphonic synthesizers. PS series Korgs are rare and examples of them are few, so I decided to make a video demonstrating some of the sounds and capabilities. The theme music at the beginning was composed using the PS-3100 as the only sound source, without any effect or EQing.Feel free to link to this video or post it on your page, but please give me credit by marking it "by Marc Doty." Thanks!

The PS doesn't have a highpass filter, and the oscillators used in divide-down synths like this one sound quite different from those used in monos like the MS-20. Those things plus different functionality lead to quite a different sound. I'm not a lucky many anymore, I sold mine!

Ok cool. Someone once told me that the ms20 was pretty much a monophonic version of this one, guess he didnt know what he was talking about. Anyway, great sounding and looking piece of hardware, consider yourself a lucky man ;)

It is so completely different from the MS-20. It's Korg, semi-modular, and has a similar design scheme... but those are pretty much the only similarities. The sound and functionality are quite different.

nice funky tune!

Wow, i honestly think this must be the coolest synth ever! Does anyone know how this compares to an MS20?

Vintage synths will always RULE no matter how much software ones exist or how good they could be!
AutomaticGainsay (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yeah, and if a Triton broke, you'd have a lot of free PCBs... and if software "broke" you'd have nothing.

Uh, yeah... and broken glass is WAY cheaper than diamonds... ; )
