The most famous time-lapse/slo-mo film is probably the Qatsi trillogy (Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoyqatsi). Then there's also Chronos. Baraka has fast and slow stuff but also a noticable amount of real-time footage. I also recently I found a short independent time-lapse film called Drop-Frame which focuses on a specific city. All of these examples do not have a traditional plot or subject. The point of them is to show you your world in a way you haven't seen before.
