Totally man, i've owned a gretsch renown maple set for a couple years, the sound is perfectly warm, and it plays so naturally.

I think it's the USA made kit with the smaller tube lugs.......could be wrong..I've owned DWs, Tamas, Slingerland, Ludwig, Rogers and they were all good drums I must say I love the sound of my Gretsch kit. There truly is something to "that great Gretsch sound"
