Self-teaching is fine if you can't get access to lessons. One problem with self-teaching is learning bad habits that can either slow the learning process down and/or end up over a period of time causing injury.

I think, to a certain extent, self-teaching is a lot better than being taught. You're motivated when you self-teach, and that sometimes goes when you're being taught. |
