If you look at the parts 1:04-1:11 it looks like the singer SEAL dancing. May'be the singer saw this video in his early days and needed a look and decided to go with this look.

Thanks for the response! When you think about all the changes music went through in that decade and the new technical possibilities that were available in the recording studio. The artists with the talent really took off.
