This was a sentence of the "Général De Gaulle". He created this word : "Paris and the french "desert". Means that everything is (toot much) concentrated in Paris and everywhere else in France... there is nothing except desert (political, economical, artistic... desert)... even for very good movies I never had the opportunity to see because I don't live in Paris.But anyway, even on DVD, "the fountain" is amazing and marvellous ;-))

I live in France for 6 years and no I don't live in Paris and I've seen it in UGC."French desert" !!! You should go to Alberta in Canada, believe me in France there's no such thing as "desert" !!

You're not french, you're canadian ! First point ! Second point ... do you live in Paris or "somewhere else" in France ?? Because in the "french desert" (everywhere except Paris), this film was unknown(not in Gaumont, Royal ...).Except if you go frequently to "Melies"(there ! you had a chance to see it). If you really live in France you will understand .....
