annalouis, he is a comedian, this is not to be taken literally. He is not advocating divorce, and the breaking up of families. He is just being funny, and in my opinion, and most other people Lynch is doing a great job of it,

The song is not funny because of the breakdown of a family. It is only funny because the soothing melody and the so absurd lyric don't match. You can't take every song dead serious. The line you mentions is very thin and sometimes you will step over without intention to harm anyone.
