Corrections:...I found out/ I learned that the spelling of the noun and verb are different for "advice" and "advise". Can you please add this topic to your list of upcoming videos? What other words change their spelling when they're used as nouns or verbs? Can you please correct my grammar? It's very poor.

Yes, what's also interesting is how word stress changes when the part of speech changes. For example:> The athlete broke the world REcord. (noun)> Did you reCORD the song? Can I hear it? (verb)

It's good to know a variety of expressions that perform the same funtion. This makes your writing (and speaking) more interesting. When talking about weather, we often use DUE TO: Due to heavy rain, due to flooding, etc. You'll also hear BECAUSE OF and perhaps ON ACCOUNT OF. I don't really hear OWING TO in the context of weather.

I hope your presentation went well. I'm sorry it took a few days to post an answer.ADVISE and GIVING ADVICE are the same in meaning, but they differ in the situations we use them in. We don't usually ADVISE OUR FRIENDS. We GIVE ADVICE TO OUR FRIENDS. ADVISE is usually more appropriate when the person doing it is an authority of some kind. Most examples in dictionaries support this.

2. CORRECTIONS: Sometimes I read statments in ads, and I have questions. Is INQUIRY the same as ENQUIRY? Thanks. It's already 2:18 and I'm still watching. I started with the first video that you posted. Hehehe. It's a lot. Are there any grammar mistakes in my question? Please tell me. |
