The Painter's Easel RIP pt. VII
The final song performed by The Painter's Easel, and one of the first they ever played (see The Ivy House, 20th November 2004). It was a cover, and one which is well-known. Dolly Parton did it, The White Stripes did it, Queen Adreena did it. And of course, The Painter's Easel gave it their own unique makeover, complete with beatdowns, lighters-in-the-air intro, and THAT sustained note ("How did she do that?!") it is the one and only Joleen. And rather wonderfully, the video cuts out before TPE actually finish their song, leaving them in a sort of performance purgatory. Will they return? Probably not, but whatever. So tip your glasses, all together now; "Joleen, Jo-leen. Joleen, Jo-LEEEEEEEEEN!"

Dolly Parton made it, she did not cover it.

My apologies for mis-spelling Jolene.

I'm sorry but the song's title is "Jolene" and not Joleen. |
