Corey you are right he wasnt doing 16ths he was doing 32nds. As far as reaching 280 bpm I believe it is possible. I have seen slayer live twice. They play their songs way faster in concert then on the albums.

you dont think anyone can do 280 bpm at all? What about Derek Roddy, and Flo Mounier. Both of those guys are insanely fast.

Yeah dude, if you think he's doing 280bpm in 16ths on his feet you're wrong... Lombardo simply isn't that fast, and there are really only a few people in the world capable of doing 280bpm single strokes in 16ths.

Jihad - favourite song off CI.Sorry but unless there has been a quantum leap in human ability, you cannot do 280BPM without using the 'swivel' technique & I don't recall Lombardo ever utilising this.

Like I said you need to listen to more slayer. I will give an example. Listen to their album Christ Illusion the 5th track Jihad. Towards the end he does 16th double kick roll that was atleast 280 bpm. On top of that he was doing marching drum cadence along with the double bass.
