Where does all this Steve Allen stuff come from? George Duning composed the love theme from Picnic and Moonglow was by Hudson, DeLange & Mills

In 1956, women all across America saw this film and wished that they could dance in the moonlight with William Holden. Lorraine

Steve Allen didn't write Moonglow. he wrote the "Theme from Picnic" , which was the violin part played over Moonglow.

This was also a number 1 song on billboard, primarily for this sultry scene.Probably the best 3 minute romance sequel ever done in Hollwood.

Now let me get this straight! A bum moves into your neighborhood, didn't want to do any serious work other than rake up some leaves, couldn't hack college or even stick around to coach some jr. varsity or whatever job they handed out to guys like him back then. Leaves town the same way he came in; on rails. Runs off with a simple headed girl of questionable morals, and you tell me he won't wind up in an alley shot by some guy Madge was entertaining. Her own sister called her a slut. |
