I must have seen the credits of this movie over 100 times, haha, working at a cinema at the time, wonderful movie and very sinbolic ending in New York with the twin Towers in the far backgroundm wouldn't you agree.

The most newsworthy thing about the 1968 Olympics was the controversy of two U.S. Black athletes using the Black Power salute during the national anthem. The campus riot where 300 where killed was used by the students to harness the attention focused on Mexico City for the Olympics it had nothing to do with the Olympics whatsoever. It was preceded by months of political unrest in the Mexican capital, echoing student demonstrations and riots all over the world during 1968.

Only someone who never saw the movie could say that. It contains very empathetic portrayals of the characters on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
