Add to that list Mary Wilson and "the legacy of The Supremes" that Gordy and Ross also felt needed to be destroyed so that Diane as a solo act could have it all! Thank God there are still people around who still remember and speak the truth: "The legend of The Supremes is greater than the sum of its individual parts."

When did having an affair with your boss become okay? It's not surprising that people would object particularly in light of the preferential treatment Ms. Ross received. I have no problem with Gordy believing in her talent, he was certainly right to believe. What I don't like is him trying to destroy anybody that got in her way like Flo, Martha & the Vandellas, etc.

After watching this video, you can certainly understand why seeing Diane sing these songs today with phony Supremes singing Mary and Flo's (Cindy) parts is such a travesty. Without all three of them, it just doesn't do it!!!!!

Masterfeelgood - I agree with you! This is a great version of Lady Is a Tramp. Its right up there with Ella IMHO. Hats off to anyone who can sing this song this well. Diana was a true star.

I'm not mad at Diane. But it was a group. So if Berry & Motown wanted her to be this big star they should have signed her to motown as a solo artist instead of being placed a group. I think Flo, Mary & Cindy would have made a great trio.

another thing,Mary and flo and later Cindy had more than any average black girl at that time anyway, as many new top of the line dresses, perfect make up, as many new human hair wigs as they could dream of, what ever food they wanted.Thats better than most black girls that I knew had it at that time! |
