Agreed. Why have all newly created jobs (numerically) for the past four years or so gone to immigrants when we've had EIGHT MILLION economically inactive people here all along? They're shaking us up for our eventual dispossession to the EU. All government hard talk about immigration is mere cynical placation.

Batten > Vaz

It's quite ironic that Vaz seems to think everything is wonderful but then in the same breath utters about how over half his constituency is going to be from outside of the country. Personally I find that frightening, primarily because he seems to think thats normal or acceptable to the existing people living in Leicester/UK.

We don't need any immigration, we need the government to actually tackle the problems in society not use a quick fix like mass immigration. What happens when these people have children? Those children don't want to do the same low level jobs as their parents, they want to better themselves & who blames them?. Of course this then means we are back to square one needing yet more people to fill empty positions... it solves nothing!

yes immigration should only be used to fill skill-gaps, not on the ridiculous scale it is now.

the BBC loves all of LibLabCon, its non-mainstream parties like UKIP they do the media blackout to.

I do accept that immigrant workers can and do perform a useful function while in the UK, but the rate at which they're coming in is simply too high. I would reduce the number coming in and give more of these jobs to UK-born people, so many of whom are disillusioned and angry at the lack of opportunities to better themselves.

HAHAHA The toughest govermnet as far as immigration is concerned?!? ERM is it? doublethink yes it is. What a load of crap, hes just said that by 2010 HALF THE POPULATION OF HIS CONSTITUENCY WILL BE BOORN ABROAD. Thats controlled migration? These people are fucking us around and im getting very pissed off!
BryanAJParry (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This system is bollocks. Almost all the present immigration is FROM EU countries. A system which doesn't treat EU migrants as trictly as non-EU ones is a SHAM.

Does anybody else feel that the BBC give an easy ride to Labour and lib dem politicians and is much harder on conservative politicians like Batten.Vaz is just a labour lackey.
