some of you guys are such R-tards!!! did any of you work in the lending business??? You cannot make a loan for someone that doesn't meet financial criteria! That means if you are black or white you do not get the loan! Except one problem was the crooked lenders, apprasiers, and even some underwriters. They over valued homes on purpose to get paid themselves. That is problem one, the other part is ARMs. It's a great idea at 5%, but what happens when it adjusts to 15%? People cannot afford it.

kyleadelaide, read the Community Redevelopment Act, it requires that banks make/approve more loans to minorities or be charged with redlining and face congressional investigations. Bankers care about only one color, green! the color of money. They will loan to anyone who is credit worthy. Its not racist, its business. Gov. ie Democrates injected themselves into the mortgage business and thats why Freddie and Fannie Failed.

The govn't told these companies to loan them the money and if they couldnt pay they would. ( by the way that means us) Then big surprise they couldnt pay all at once and the govnt did not have the money to give these companies and here we are. The reason he used the word minority was because if you look up the act it pushes for more loans to minority's there words not his. I am hispanic and hate when minority's get sensitive to everything grow up

This guy is an idiot. First off if he would have a done research for a minunte he first of would have realized that the reason Obama was on the side he was speaking live at the moment. Second the community reinvest act basically stated that everyone had the RIGHT to own a home. I think everyone should own a home but when you call something a right you make sure it happens by any means necessary. So this act told the fannie and freddie to loan to people that most likely could not pay.

This problem goes back to the Carter Administration with the Community Reinvestment Act which was based on the fair housing act. As to your question of why they are showing Obama in the clip, it was probably because they just finished talking about his ties to Fannie and Freddie through Franklin Raines, who is / was a top Obama advisor and Fannie Mae CEO.

I can't believe that Cavuto blames minorities. I would venture to say that he mis-spoke, just as Obama mis-spoke about "spreading the wealth". C'mon, let's be fair.Cavuto blames the government for MANDATING Fannie and Freddie to FORCE them to lend money to people who could not otherwise qualify for a loan. This is what happens when GOVERNMENT tries to run the ECONOMY, banks are forced into making bad business decisions in the interest of being "fair".
