Sheldrake's data are too, including in the journal of consciousness studies, journal of scientific exploration, and others.

Maybe he's not willing to be a cheap casino for charlatans. Getting 40% out of 25% expected shouldn't take 8 years. Getting 32% out of 25% expected shouldn't take 8 years. Wide differences like that produce high confidence very quickly.

This isn't science, it's crap.This guy is a non-physicist, as opposed to me, and is throwing out all these science terms to give himself credibility.As a physicist, people don't confuse me or what I say with people who call themselves "metaphysicists"."Psi" is not science, it's religion. Are they frauds too?*Either* (a) they are all frauds, (b) none of them are, or (c) some are but some are not. There are too many significant data (some from skeptics!) by too many people to dismiss as "fraud".... unless you wish to argue for a conspiracy theory.

Radin was the one making that claim, but I was trying to discuss sheldrake's reasons. Anyway, radin actually said that it would take 8 years for a single study to result in odds of a milllion to one, which is what Randi requires (and won't accept 900,000 to 1). But Randi seems to be a very dishonest and ideologically driven person. Watch sheldrake's google video on "the extended mind" right here on youtube to hear the reaons for distrusting Randi. |
