You haven't sailed then.You might have tooled about in boats, but if you are really sailing you'll eventually run aground unless you stick to deep & familiar waters...

Hitting a rock like that is going to do some damage, if not to the boat then to the crew. Stopping like that at such speed is going to hurt.

almost would have been quicker/less dangerous to just 2sail that reach, but there was prob a boat infront which was carrying the chute.
