But following that logic, chickens would be red meat too because they eat all vegetation. The reason you think that it is white meat is in the 1980's when red meat started to get a bad name, the pork industry started its campaign called "The other white meat". This campaign was geared to make people think it is was white meat and that it didn't come with side effects. If you read the first line of youshitme2 said "eating lots of red meat".

Well it depends how you look at it really. Traditionally its always been seen as a 'white' meat due to pigs being omnivores, whilst vegetarian animals like deers and cows are seen as 'red' meats. Some people call all meat from mammals red meat though. However beef is clearly different from pork and its supposed 'DNA damaging properties' would vary widely depending on circumstance.Youshitme2 is just ranting about people eating meat in general. 717k people didnt get cancer from eating ribs...

I was raised on a KS farm and cook country ribs a little different. One bottle of sauce (Sweet Baby Rays is my favorite) and three bottles of beer. Drink two bottles while cooking, otherwise follow video. Great vid !

pork is white when cooked but it is classed as a red meat, because that is the colour when raw, like beef and lamb. |
