Im a mobile DJ, I dont DJ for a living and I charge £15 per hour ($30/h) - I'm fine with that amount, but do you think it should be a little more then? I've never rung around local DJs to find out their pricing...

You are really great. But, in Serbia, mobile DJs are really under priced... One reason for that is huge completion. Every kid with computer and few speakers calls himself mobile DJ...

The DJ's communication with the audience is the Most important, not all Jockeys do it.

It's possible but rare. Most mobile gigs or private events demand a wide variety of music. There are, however, exceptions in certain gigs. If you only want to tackle the school market (specifically high schools) or the teenage market like graduations or sweet 16's, those types of parties are usually narrowed down to limited genres...usually Hip Hop and Reggaton/ Reggae, or Top 40 (usually consisting of commercial hip hop. |
