Alberto Mizrahi is the most celebrated cantor today. Performed at every major event all over the world. I saw him on PBS as well and this is the reason why he is. His power and interpretation of the prayer is fantastic.Thank you for posting.

Agreed, this is lousy compared to how he performs much later in his career. His performances are now in the top 5 league, the standing ovations are fitting when he belts out in the last televised concert I saw.

That depends on what you are listening for.I think he sings well enough for the range of his voice when you consider he is not wearing his tallit or his cantor hat! He is just performing for people. In my humble opinion, when a cantor/Chazzan puts on his tallit and his hat, he is representing all of us before G*d and he has to make sure our prayers get to H*m! SO it is going to sound different then.

what happened nynyboropark a.k.a. chazzanmaven? cant sell anymore tickets for your employee helfgot? baumgarten has no control?? he is a master baal tfilah with enough power and fullness in his voice to blow a house down. why dont you measure his voice in decibels and compare it to helfgot and see who wins instad of always shooting off your mouth? baumgarten is far better than helfgot. your just going to have to live with the truth.oh and lastly, your a schmuck. get a life.

Wow, I know Mizrahi really well- and he looks so young in this picture! He sings rather well, for the most part.
